Hypnosis has been in the media again recently.

I picked up a second hand copy of Heat magazine from the hotel, namely because it had Celebrity Hypnotist Paul McKenna on the front. Ok, and stories on fellow West Essex dwellers – the TOWIE mob (The only way is Essex).

After shaking my head and sighing my way through the TOWIE article, I came to the McKenna piece.

Apparently Ex X Factor Judge Cheryl Cole has been meeting with the former Radio DJ turned Stage Hypnotist turned NLP Guru/Hypnotherapist in order to help get her confidence back after some recent challenges in her life. Good on her I say, but then I would say that wouldn’t I?

After all, nearly every client I work with asks for more confidence, regardless of the problem they come and see me for.
Like many Hypnotherapists I’d be interested to see what techniques of Hypnotism, NLP and Brief (Psycho) Therapy he used with her. At a push I’d reckon a bunch of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and some Permissive trance work from the Ericksonian model. I could be wrong though, as Mr McKenna was also a solid Stage Hypnotist, so maybe he used Direct Hypnosis.

Whatever he used, I wish him every success, he’s bringing Hypnosis into the light and the mainstream, albeit via the cult of celebrity.

Client wise, I don’t go in for the celebrity/entertainment scene much.
Unless you count a Belly Dancer, who ironically wanted less of a belly. I did of course point out that this might put a cap on her earnings, but she seemed undeterred and so we continued with the work.

I believe Nick and Eva Speakmen have also worked very successfully with lots of Celebrities, so maybe budding starlets should look there.

The nearest I’ve got to that is working with World Champion Martial Artists and Fighters for my work with www.fightersmind.co.uk.

I have also been privileged in helping most excellent regular human beings as well over at www.westessexhypnotherapy.co.uk

Now my parting shot to you, reader is this list of questions.

1.
Does the increasing use by celebrities make you more or less likely to use a Hypnotherapist?

2.
Is Hypnosis Mind Control?

3.
What do you think Hypnosis feels like?

4.
What would it enable you to do in your life if Hypnotherapy was able to help you to get rid of *that* problem, if there is one?

If you want some help with getting over something or someone, I might be able to help you.

Get in touch with me by calling me on 07903 713234 or emailing me on info@westessexhypnotherapy.co.uk or from the web addresses above.

Even if you are a celebrity.
